Brought to me by NPR this morning.  This one falls into the category of “Why Didn’t I Think of That?”

A student in Germany, after spending too many evenings walking home barefoot because she wore stilettos out, came up with the idea to have vending machines in clubs that dispense ballet flats.  For $10 you get the flats and a bag in which to carry home your heels.

Having personally walked the streets of New Orleans barefoot due to this problem, it’s mind blowing that I didn’t think of this already (or develop a wicked case of tetanus).
