It’s Wednesday, which means it’s time for another DRW. I’m going simple today because sometimes you want a drink that LOOKS fancy, but doesn’t make the bartender want to slap you square in the face. Chambord and Champagne.
You will need the following:
- Chambord Raspberry Liqueur
- Champagne (or Prosecco)
Pour just a bit of the Chambord into a champagne glass, then top with the champers. So simple, even a moron could do it. Because this drink lacks a fancy name, I shall henceforth dub it the “Cham Champers”. Some people may refer to it as Kir Royal(e), but those people are WRONG. The reason being: A Kir Royal(e) has champers and Creme de Cassis, which is a blackcurrant-flavored liqueur. LAWYERED.
On a somewhat related note, Chambord’s website suggests pouring the liqueur over vanilla ice cream. THIS LITERALLY SOUNDS LIKE AWESOME SAUCE!
Good morining from Tokyo!
I have really enjoyed reading through your last few entries, but this one made me laugh because we prepared the exact drink for one of my dear friends at her birthday party last week. We tried to be creative and cute, calling it “The Flirty 30” as it was such a pretty shade of pink once the champgne mixed with the chambord.
Have a lovely day!
Warmly,
Elizabeth
YAY! I’m always a fan of having a “signature cocktail” at a party and your name sounds PERFECT! Makes things seem more festive! I actually first got this drink one day whilst at Galatoire’s because it matched my outfit. Duh.
Thanks for reading!
Thank you so much! We enjoyed the cocktail thoroughly.
Oh my goodness…I love Galatoire’s! It’s been ages since I was home to enjoy a good meal there. Hopefully when we visit for the summer I’ll be able to sneak away with the husband for a delicious evening.
Hah! So if you were wearing blue, what drink would you order then? Thought I’d pick your brain as I’ve always wanted a blue drink, but haven’t the first idea where to begin!
Warmly,
Elizabeth
Ah, a blue drink! My favorite color. The first that came to mind is the Skylab from Pat O’s, but word to the wise, it’s the strongest drink on their menu. Also, I have NO idea what’s in it, and, frankly, I probably don’t WANT to know.
The Blue Lagoon, though, sounds pretty delightful.
1 oz vodka
1 oz Blue Curacao liqueur
Lemondade
Pour vodka and liqueur over ice into a highball glass, fill remainder with lemonade, garnish with a cherry. Never had this one, but the Curacao is supposed to taste citrusy or like an orange, so I think it’d be good!
